I always love the weekend after Thanksgiving.
Nothing beats grazing on leftover turkey and trimmings (and pie) and putting up Christmas decorations…
And more importantly, it’s a treasured opportunity to spend time with loved ones.
It’s also a great time to reflect…
And when I opened a new browser tab yesterday, I saw a headline that really struck a chord and gave me pause.
I took a quick screenshot to share it with you…
The article cites new data from the U.S. Census Bureau that says almost 26 million Americans don’t have enough food right now, which is the highest that number’s been since the onset of the pandemic in March.
All over the country, people are spending hours in line at food banks and public pantries to receive what they can… much of which is in a can… after finding themselves unemployed in the coronavirus fallout.
Meanwhile, the stock market continues to surge to record highs…
With the Dow hitting 30,000 on Tuesday and showing no signs of slowing down.
With a Biden-led White House right around the corner, the markets are picking up more and more steam, and the stage is set for a potentially massive boon for investors over the coming years.
Now, this headline does a great job of expressing the stark disparity between what we’re seeing in the financial markets and the cold, hard reality that millions of Americans are currently experiencing.
And my guess is that, if you’re reading this right now, you probably didn’t have to wait in line at a food pantry for your Thanksgiving dinner.
My guess is that you, like me, gave thanks Thursday for another year of continued success and abundance, particularly this year when so many others were having a very different Thanksgiving experience.
I’m guessing you probably even gave a little extra to your favorite charity this year…
Or maybe you donated more than you normally would have to your church’s food drive.
Because you know as well as I do that it’s one thing to simply feel gratitude and love in your heart…
But it’s something much more fulfilling to express gratitude and love through your actions however you can.
And while that headline is a punch in the gut on one hand, on the other hand it conveys great news that we can be thankful for.
It means that we — me and you, the folks who are in a position to participate in the markets — have a huge opportunity to increase our capacity to donate and give charitably to those in need.
It all goes back to the “why” we recently talked about.
Of course, my family is my number-one “why” for working hard… and making my money work hard for me in the markets.
But beyond my family’s security and freedom, my increased financial leverage allows me to do more things to help others…
And to give more freely to causes and projects that serve interests other than my own.
That’s why I’m thankful this Thanksgiving not just for my wife, my kids, my family and all the incredible blessings in my life…
But also for the opportunity to continue to increase my capacity to help others as the markets continue to rise.
And since I’m in a position to do so, I want to make it easier than ever for you to give your trading an adrenaline boost…
And help you take full advantage of the opportunities that are happening right now.
